This project was commissioned by Greater Manchester Connexions in June 2005.
The VideoBank service allows young people to browse a wide range of Greater Manchester youth videos. The project is a new idea, headed by Connexions Greater Manchester, which has been funded by the North West Regional Development Agency. There is a broad range of videos available that have either been made by or for young people. The aim is to entertain, educate and inspire.
The website makes use of it’s own dedicated video server (Flash Communication Server MX) so that a large number of users can access the videos at any one time. This website was launched in September 2005 and the number of videos held within the system has greatly increased since it's launch. Videos are upload via FTP to the server and the admin of the site can review the uploaded files and enter the extended details of the video and publish them to the various categories on the site.
